Moving to Portland from Australia!

Hi Rose City!

I'm Juke Nukem and I currently skate for Brisbane City Rollers in Australia (travel team and home team). At the end of this year (November/December) I have plans to move to Portland! Hopefully the complicated process of getting a visa works well but could use some help on looking for work since I need to do that before I move. I can do a bunch of stuff! Graphic design, screen printing, trades/labour, IT heldesk/support, coffee making. I'm not even sure where to start looking, I've contacted a few places here that try to help aussies get jobs overseas but otherwise I'm pretty lost.

I've only visited the states once before, I spent a few days in NYC after my trip to Canada for the world cup. I've heard a lot about Portland and it sounds like a great place to live. If anyone has any previous experience with or tips for such a big move then I would love to hear them. I'm excited to meet and hopefully skate with you guys

Well, that would just be rad. I don't know what it's like to move to another country, but a lot of jobs in Portland are posted on a website called Craigslist: http://portland.craigslist.org. Good luck and hopefully we'll see you soon!

For those that don't know Juke she is amazing! Mangles and I got to know her on our travels. Not only is she an excellent skater but she is also a lovely person. She is also the only one on team Australia to score points against team usa. She did this by jumping the apex over sassy. It was epic.

What gets you jobs in portland is having friends so hopefully someone on the league can be friendly and help a girl out.
