I'd really like to know who I need to see about getting my checks from the last several months.

Portland Monthly is just such crap. We got it for a year or more because OPB was giving subscriptions with membership donations one year, and I remember wondering how many articles about Mary's Club could one magazine print? When I followed to the links the other day, sure enough, the sidebar plugs a Mary's Club article in next month's issue....

While even Justin Oswald probably didn't think he actually owned GnR, the WWeek article quote makes him sound a lot like he does own a roller derby team:

I’ve got a roller derby team, Guns N’ Rollers. Last year I was their only sponsor, and I’m buying them all new jackets—they better get off their ass and get first place, for chrissake!

But in their spot (which is now almost three years after the WWeek one), Portland Monthly throws for-real ownership of (presumedly) GnR in as part of his "wacky" bio:

At 30, Oswald has already run an experimental art gallery (Portland’s Gallery 500), owned a local roller-derby team, and killed a goat with Masai warriors in Africa.

Because Skippy Steve gets his own bit as a fan of Rose City Rollers in the same article, you'd think someone at Portland Monthly might have noticed the error. :)

Swags, you buy the Heathers, I'll buy GnR, Dresch can buy the High Rollers (that's real celebrity ownership!), and Patrick at Kay's or somebody can pick up the Betties. Then we'll all hold lots of press conferences, make stupid "front office" decisions, shake everything up, and get Oaks Park to build us a huge new venue!

This will be the best RCR reason ever! And roller derby will be a "real sport"!
