Open Scrimmage – 03/11/2017: Come skate or watch!

The Rose City Rollers are hosting Open Scrimmage at The Hangar on Saturday, March 11! Bring your black and white scrimmage shirts, and get ready, because we’re fun! Invite your friends and family too – this event is open to fans!

12:00-12:15, Check in and warm up
12:15-1:15, MSR Cleared Skaters
1:15-1:30, Warm up
1:30-2:30, non-MSR Cleared Skaters

– Skaters pay $10 at the door (cash or card accepted). Register online (using this form) by Thursday, February 23 at midnight and pay only $7 at the door!!
– Fans pay $5 at the door (cash or card accepted). (Kids 6 and under coming to watch are free!)
– Skating and non-skating officials get in free for one hour of officiating. To volunteer, email

– WFTDA, USARS, CRDA, or MRDA insurance required, and gear will be checked. Adult skaters only. Visiting skaters will be required to sign an event insurance waiver.
– This event is for women and non binary skaters. (All-gender scrimmage opportunities are coming in April and October.)
– An MSR Cleared skater is one who has tested at their home league and is confirmed to meet WFTDA Minimum Skills Requirements. A non-MSR cleared skater would be someone who is in training to pass their MSRs in a roller derby program.

* Non-MSR cleared skaters: You will be split up per jam by skill level. We are going to make this as safe and welcoming as possible, with bench coaches and experienced skaters there to help you!
* The Hangar does have water, but you will want to bring a water bottle that is not glass and has a lid to prevent spills.
* We are doing a drive for hygiene products and socks to be donated to unhoused youth. Please bring socks, pads and tampons, and travel sized toiletries.
