October RCR Newsletter
What to we want? JUSTICE! When do we want it? NOW! Congratulations to our heroines in purple, the Wheels of Justice, for killing it at Bridgetown Brawl, taking third place in the West Region, edging out Rat City. Three is a magic number, yes it is. So raise your glass, party people, because winning third place means that, for the first time in RCR’s history, Portland will be one of the teams competing for the coveted Hydra trophy at the 2011 WFTDA National Championship in November! WoJ will be accompanied at champs by the Oly Rollers, who rolled out of town with the West Region title, and Rocky Mountain, who took second place. Click here for national championship ticket info, stats and brackets. Check out Blaze Streaming Media for live video streams of the remaining Big 5 tournaments and check back often with www.rosecityrollers.com to find out how and where you can watch the championship bouts locally with other WoJ fans.
A BIG thank you goes to the amazing Yellow Shirts who contributed to the success for BTB. Many of you came for several shifts, helped train newer volunteers, and provided phenomenal support to the league. We couldn't have done it without you and are honored to have such a strong cadre of Yellow Shirts. If you missed out on BTB, but would like to be a Yellow Shirt in the future, please email volunteer@rosecityrollers.com, or apply online at www.rosecityrollers.com/volunteer.
