Rose City Rollers

July RCR Newsletter
July is somewhat officially our off-season, where we relax for about five minutes, then lace our skates back up for the fan-interactive Skate-O-Thon and barbecue, the bout-tastic Derby Daze weekend and the massive Bridgetown Brawl event of the year, soon to come. A great way to get involved with us and our community partners is by volunteering or by donating time, services or funds. Read on to find out about events and what you can do to help keep RCR rollin’ along.

Skate-o-thon

Saturday, August 6, 1:30 pm @ The Hangar at Oaks Park Sibling rivalry? More like sibling smackdown!

Skate-O-Thon is new, improved and as important as ever. This year, the ladies of Rose City Rollers will be squaring off with those young whippersnappers in Rosebuds.

Anything she can do, I can do better? We’ll just see about that
…

There’s more than bragging rights at stake. Skate-O-Thon is your favorite Roller Derby league’s annual fundraiser. This year we’ll be raising money in support of RCR and Rosebuds. Who’s got enough to win? The crafty veterans or the young upstarts? Come out to cheer all the ladies on as they skate a nine mile loop from the Hanger into downtown, across the Hawthorne Bridge and back.

Are you ready to help your favorite skater’s cause? Donate today!

Become an RCR Referee or Non-Skating Official

Are you a numbers person? Do you get a special tingle when you think about statistics, rule enforcement, and possibly zebra stripes? You may be a perfect candidate to join us as a non- skating official (statisticians, scorekeepers, and all around number geeks) or a ref (you know, the ones that everyone loves so much!).

Both of these positions require a pretty decent chunk of time, but in exchange you’ll learn cool new skills, meet awesome people, and you’ll get the best seat in the house (the center of the track!).
