Bridgetown Brawl Friday: OMG, we won!

I woke up early this morning and it was still true – Rose City’s All-Stars, the Wheels of Justice, defeated the Bay Area Derby (B.A.D.) All-Stars last night, 139-120 in a gutsy team effort with loud support from hometown fans.  Wheels will advance to the semifinals for a chance to earn their way to the WFTDA Championships.

That first chance will be tonight at 7pm at Memorial Coliseum.  Tickets are available for the whole day, but they’re also available for just the evening event at $16 a pop.  Come early for a good seat in the Rose City fan section, near the pivot line in sections 12 and 13, entry JJ.

If Rose City wins tonight, we’ll definitely be going to Championships in Denver in November.  If Oly wins, Wheels will go to the third place game on Sunday for another chance.  Either way, your hometown Portland team will be playing some big games tonight and Sunday night.  Because Rat City upset the Denver Roller Dolls, it’s entirely possible that sister leagues Rose and Rat could be facing off for that third place spot and the last invitation to Championships for the West region.

Or you could come right now! I’m here, and Bay Area is beating Angel City pretty soundly in the first game of the day.

View from the floor. Watching and blogging.

I didn’t come early enough, though, to nab doughnuts from the volunteer area.
