The Rose City Rollers had exactly one bout to report on from last week…
Rosebuds Travel Team 145, I-5 All Stars 129.
Elwood Bruise has the scoop. Excellent work, ladies!
This bout was a double header with the Portland Men’s Roller Derby travel team taking on the Puget Sound Outcasts. Elwood wrote that one up, too. Thank you, Elwood Bruise. You are the most.
Carpe Demon of PMRD adds: “PSOD has four years of experience on us…Given those conditions, I think we did exceptionally well against PSOD…They didn’t roll over us like they were expecting to, and we definitely made them work for those points!” Indeed, Demon.
(The dudes aren’t officially affiliated with the Rose City Rollers, but I try to throw them a little blog bone every now and again. Hi guys!)
Endurance practice is not an event, but I would like to note that there was a huge turnout on Sunday, despite it being the first 70-degree day after a cruel, long winter. I personally had to walk away from my friends who were drinking beer in the sunshine in order to make practice.
We’re dedicated.
Speaking of dedication: one of your intrepid bloggers (me!) will be guest skating in Denver this weekend with AoA, and you can expect some coverage of the travel team’s trip. This all depends on how much time I get at the hotel’s business center.
Saturday night, the Wheels of Justice take on the Rocky Mountain Rollergirls, 2010 WFTDA Champions. It’s Kind Of A Big Deal.
Sunday, there will be three games:
- Axles of Annihilation vs. Denver Bruising Altitude
- Wheels of Justice vs. Denver Mile High Club (Denver Roller Dolls All-Stars)
- Axles of Annihilation vs. Rocky Mountain Contenders
Keep an eye on DNN, the Rose City forums, and possibly this space, for updates on whether any of this will be steamed online.
And wish us luck! Some of us might need it at a mile high.
