…and we got to watch at the Bagdad!
It was all pretty cool.
Firstly, we got to see Joyride, Mercy and Scald Eagle all in their official WOJ debuts. The Bagdad Theater resounded with resplendent eagle calls when Scald put on the jammer cap. (Well, actually – the eagle calls could use some work, everyone. Let’s get on that.)
Secondly, we were able to do so while enjoying pizza, beer, and custom Voodoo Doughnuts with purple WOJ punisher skulls.
Thirdly, and most importantly, WOJ had a decisive victory over the Bay Area Derby Girls.
Then again, we beat BAD by 127 points at the 2010 Wild West Showdown, and BAD is just starting their all-star season. WOJ has to feel good about their win, but not secure by any means.
You can watch the video on the Rose City Rollers site to make your own conclusions, but to me, the Rose City jamming stood out. If WOJ blockers hadn’t been in such penalty trouble, there could have been another 100+ margin of victory.

Completely unrelated service announcement…
You’re coming to the Coliseum on Saturday, right? To watch us play Rat City?
- The Blazers’ playoff game will probably end around 4:30pm. Traffic won’t be that much worse than a regular season game, but it won’t be great, either.
- Tri-Met is closing two MAX stations between Lloyd Center and the Rose Quarter. There will be crazy interruptions.
- Please plan ahead, get your tickets early, and prepare for awesomeness.
Another Fresh Meat draft is this Thursday, so watch here for updates.

The Bagdad event was extremely fun. What a great idea. Please do that again some time.
And yeah, I believe we will be at the coliseum, after stuffing ourselves at Frank’s Noodle House beforehand.
And I think I’ll be sitting in the Betties section, oddly enough, assuming that I’m included in the birthday boy’s special group.
As for the FM draft, I have my special favorites who cannot be named, and would be delighted to hear that they made it. So thanks for keeping us posted.
