Weekend Recap: March 26-27

The Rose City Rollers didn’t hold any events in Portland this weekend, but certain contingents did trek north for some derby action.

The Rosebuds beat the Seattle Derby Brats, 118-95.

Elwood Bruise has a great writeup.  Congrats, Buds!  By all accounts it was a fun, hard-hitting but clean game.  We like those.

The Wheels of Justice scrimmaged Jet City.

Just so we’re clear, this was a scrimmage.  A completely non-official fun learning experience, not for any kind of official or non-official rankings.  That being said, WOJ won 306-39.

According to my inside sources, a few key players for Jet were missing, as well as Acid, Layla, Mick and Twat Rocket for Wheels.  Joyride, Mercy and Scald Eagle must not be doing too shabby as new WOJ skaters to be able pick up that slack.

Sully reports that the Jet skaters are “hard hitters, and better players than the score reflects.”    Personally, I think the score reflects that WOJ is a deep team that’s ready to face a long, challenging season.

The Heathers/Betties game sold out.

Hangar bouts are selling out earlier and earlier.  These are hot tickets, people, so keep that in mind for May.

Sooooo…

The next RCR event after Betties vs. Heathers will be a live viewing of a Wheels of Justice vs. BAD game (sanctioned, official, for rankings) at the Baghdad Theater.

These teams have a bit of a history.

The game itself will be closed to the public.  No streaming via the internets.  Get a ticket and support your Rose City All-Stars.
