Get Floored

We’re hoping to provide you with some of the best derby in the world come next September and part of that will be providing the skaters with a top notch skating facility. But we’re going to need your help! RCR has always relied on sponsors and donor contributions to keep our wheels turning, but right now we’re offering a first opportunity for everyone to make a donation to RCR with a direct funding goal in mind.

Floor It! is our effort raise funds toward purchasing a new skating floor for use in our practice facility and at bouts including next year’s regional tournament.

Our current skating floor has been in service 7 days a week since it was purchased in 2006- skated on by all four home teams, fresh meat, Rosebuds, and Wreckers. A proper skating floor keeps your wheels moving free and fast while also providing a safer landing surface than concrete or asphalt. Ours has done a great job of that, but it puts up with a lot of abuse (remember that beer you spilled on it last year?) and it’s time to purchase a more adequate floor for our skaters.

These floors aren’t cheap and we need your help! Donors to the Floor It! campaign get to post a name, photo, and website link on our virtual floor which will remain active as long as we keep the floor. You’ll also be represented at bouts via the Floor It! banner. Donations to Rose City Rollers are tax deductible!

The new floor will ring in right around $30K, some of which has been raised over the years through sponsorship donations, fund raising, ticket sales, and member dues (yes, the ladies pay to skate). We’re asking our fans and the community to contribute $20 or more to help us reach our goal of $15K (1/2 the total cost). We can do it!

Check out the Floor It! page for more info and the fun interactive map featuring everybody who has contributed already- grab your favorite spot on the floor!
